Kongka Balm is very good for bruising and tight muscles as well. It has a very relaxing scent which is a different smell to Salet Phangphon Balm. This balm is one of the most popular balms used in the massage industry. Kongka Balm is not as hot as Green Balm but is still hot at first and then goes cold after. Gold is the best for sand fly marks and mosquito bites.

Ingredients used in the Kongka Balm

Phlai, Cassumunar [scientific name Zingiber cassumunar Roxb] Traditionally, the rhizome of Phlai is used to cure dysentery and ailments of the stomach. The theraputic benefits of Phlai has been researched by the institute of Science and technology of Thailand and Faculty of Medicine at the Siriraj Hospital.

Philippine Violet  [scientific name ; Climacanthus nutans [BURM.f.] Lindau] The part used in the Balm is Climacanthus nutans leaves which supports natural healing. The leaf extract also has antiseptic properties.  

Borneol Camphor [scientific name ; Pogostemon cablin [Blanco] Benth.] The part used in massage balm are the leaves. They have carminative and healing properties. The oil extracted from patchouli’s dry leaves can also help keep away insects.

Kitchen Mint, march Mint, [scientific name ; Metha  cordifola Opiz] The kitchen mint contains aromatic oil which consists of menthol, Beta-carotene, vitamin C, and calcium. The parts used in the balm are the leaves and stems. Kitchen Mint soothes and cools and supports healing.

Camphor Tree [scientific name ;Cinnamomum camphora[L.]J.S.resl.] The parts used in massage balm are the skin and roots. The extracted oil from camphor’s skin and roots consists of camphor, safrol, cineole, pinene, camphene, phellandrene and limonene. This extracted oil can be used as a light antiseptic, and as a rub to support joint mobility and circulation.
